About Monthly Events
We offer monthly educational events featuring presentations and demonstrations by distinguished experts from every corner of the culinary community. We tour, we have tastings, and we feast at places of culinary interest, such as specialty food producers, cooking schools, restaurants, wineries, ranches, and farms.

Past event topics have included pairing Russian River wine with Thai curries, exploring the culinary art of brewing fresh roasted coffee, tasting local extra virgin olive oils, and discovering the bright flavors of Oaxacan cuisine.

We have tasted heirloom tomatoes right off the vine at the California Coast Wine Center Gardens and abalone fresh from the waters of Tomales Bay.

One of our communal feasts at Terra Sonoma at
"Life with Verjus" event in August 2006

We have gone behind the scenes at celebrated venues like Dean and DeLuca and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone.

Guest speakers have taught us how to style food, how to write about it, and how to bring a product to market.

Each event includes a communal feast, usually a potluck that extends the theme of the event. These meals provide a time for enjoying each other's company and networking.

"If you would like to know the difference between Inchelium Red and Polish Softneck garlics, the way Eritreans debone a chicken in a flash, and how terroir imprints Sonoma County wines, this Guild is for you. Members explore the art of cuisine and science of food in enjoyable, educational monthly meetings."

—Barbara Bowman, Writer and consultant, past president, and member since 1990
